Riichi Mahjong Score Chart: Fu × Han to Points, Ron and Tsumo

Riichi scoring quick reference: base = fu × 2^(2+han); ron and tsumo payment charts for 25/30/40 fu at 1–4 han, fixed values from mangan to yakuman, plus honba and riichi sticks.

There is only one formula

Base points are fu × 2^(2+han), capped at 2000. A non-dealer ron collects base ×4, a dealer ron ×6, rounded up to the nearest hundred. On tsumo a non-dealer takes ×2 from the dealer and ×1 from each other; a dealer tsumo takes ×2 from all three. The charts below are just this formula, pre-computed.

Ron chart (non-dealer / dealer)

Two anchors worth memorising: 30 fu 1 han is 1000 for a non-dealer, and 30 fu 4 han is the famous 7700. At 40 fu 4 han most rules round up to mangan.

Tsumo chart (non-dealer / dealer)

Notation: “300·500” means the two other non-dealers pay 300 each and the dealer pays 500; “500 all” is a dealer tsumo with everyone paying 500. 20 fu only exists as pinfu tsumo.

From five han fu stops mattering

From five han upward the payment is a fixed value — which is why the fu field disappears past four han in the scorekeeper.

Honba, sticks and draws

Each honba adds 300 to a ron, or 100 from each player on tsumo. Riichi sticks are 1000 apiece and the winner sweeps every stick on the table. The 3000-point draw payment splits by tenpai count: one player takes 3000, two take 1500 each, three take 1000 each.

You can memorise all of this — or open the riichi scorekeeper on Tallyo, pick han and fu, and get the payment instantly, with dealer repeats, honba, sticks and the final uma/oka settlement all tracked for you.
